TARBERT SCOTTISH SERIES

The twenty fourth Scottish Series at Tarbert on Loch Fyne finished with a perfect days racing in ideal breezes and bright sunshine for the 233 yachts were racing in 14 different classes on three courses. Overall winner of the Scottish Series Trophy for the best peformance in the event was the National Sonata class yacht 'Kooshtie', sailed by Graham Campbell of Royal Gourock YC.

The Crawford McInnes Trophy for the best peformance by a young helmsman or crew was won by Lawrence Jacobsen's classic 8 metre cruiser racer 'Inismara', from the new restricted sail class, the Sail Scotland Trophy for the best visiting yacht went to Trevor Halliwell's 'Flash' from Royal Ulster YC, Bangor.

In the Cork 1720 class 'Daylight Robbery' sailed by Robert Dix with Tom Roche and Richard Burrows lifted their position to fourth in a competitive class by winning the last race by just ten second after a close battle round the course with the class winner 'Luvly Jubly' from Cornwall.
