Clive and the main battery
|
Principal Committee Vessel "Grand Banks" has your range accurately
calibrated, so the rumour goes.
Clive (Guns) Scott was reported as having blown a hole,
(maybe two), in the blue ensign of the Principal Committee Vessel, while
firing the starting cannon.
Some think the holes were the result of two shots, but Clive
insists he accurately judged the timing to achieve this with a single
charge.
Clive says "Now I have shown how accurate these cannon
are I can easily identify any premature starters ?."
Clive inspects his handiwork
Owner and skipper of "Grand Banks" Gerry Atkinson,
always presents his vessel in immaculate condition.
Kip Marina Chandlery would neither confirm nor deny that
Gerry has ordered 12 new blue ensigns in case Clive gets bored and tests
the cannon with a full broadside.
