STARTING LINE
A line between the mainmast of the Committee Vessel moored to
the north of the entrance to Inverkip Marina and the southernmost racing mark
offshore, the mark to be left to Starboard.
COURSE
All classes will sail Course 1 unless Flag G is displayed at
the start when all classes will sail Course 2.

SHORTENED COURSE
Courses 1 and 2 may be shortened by a Committee Vessel
displaying Flag S at any of the marks on the course. If the course is to be
shortened for certain classes only, in addition to the provisions of RRS 32
(Flag S) Class Flag(s) may be flown to indicate which Class (es) is/are being
shortened. The Committee vessel will endeavour to make sound signals to draw
attention to the flags as boats approach the line. The finishing line will be
between the main mast of the Committee Vessel and the mark.
Course 1 may be shortened at any position on the Island of Bute. The Committee
Vessel will display Code Flag S. If the course is to be shortened for certain
classes only, in addition to the provisions of RRS 32 (Flag S) Class Flag(s)
may be flown to indicate which Class (es) is/are being shortened. The Committee
vessel will endeavour to make sound signals to draw attention to the flags as
boats approach the line. The committee vessel will create a finishing line
between its main mast and the Island of Bute and as perpendicular as possible
to the course from the previous mark or headland.
FINISHING LINE
A line between the mainmast of the Committee Vessel moored to
the north of the entrance to Largs Yacht Haven and a Racing Mark, the mark to
be left to Starboard.
MINIMUM EQUIPMENT
Yachts shall comply with ORC/ISAF Special Regulations, Category
4. Minimum SSSN 10 (see General Regulations 3.1).
TIME LIMIT
Racing will cease at 18.00 hours. Any yachts still racing at
this time will be treated as having retired. If, however, one yacht in any
class has finished by the time limit, racing for all classes will be extended
by 1 hour.
RETIRALS
The person in charge of a yacht that retires from this race
should advise the Race Officials at the finish or c/o Largs Yacht Haven.

SPECIAL PRIZES FOR TEAM RACE
WJM TEAM PRIZE
Law firm Wright Johnston & Mackenzie is supporting the Bute
Race for the third year with the presentation of a team prize. The prize is open
to teams of three boats from any classes and full details are available from
the Club office or website or from WJM's website www.wjm.co.uk.
MUSTER, LARGS YACHT HAVEN
A special arrangement has been made with Largs Yacht Haven for
berthing of competing yachts on Saturday / Sunday 26/27 April. The
concessionary berthing charge is included in the race entry fee. Each yacht
should call Largs Yacht Haven on VHF Channel 80 after finishing to receive
berthing instructions.
A social muster, buffet and team event prize giving supported
by Wright
Johnston & Mackenzie has been arranged in Largs Sailing Club on
Saturday 26th April. The
cost of the buffet is included within a yachts entry fee. The time of this
event will be subject to the race finish time but should take place around 6pm.
All competitors are welcome. Members of the CCC who wish to attend the social
muster but have not paid a race entry fee should contact the CCC office and
register the number of persons for whom they wish to book the buffet only
option. The latest date for registering for the meal will be one week before
the event. The charge per head for the buffet option only will be £10.00, which
should be paid to the CCC club office.

evening social on the CCC web site as building works may make the Largs
Clubhouse unsuitable for catering

PART 1
(If Flag A is displayed
by the Committee Vessel at the start, the alternative courses will apply see
PART 2)
STARTING LINE
A line between the mainmast of the Committee Vessel and a
racing mark, Mark 2 (see COURSE below). Yachts shall cross the Starting Line in
the direction of Mark 1. A distance mark may be moored on the Starting Line
see General Regulation 6. The Committee Vessel will normally be within 2 miles
of Largs Yacht Haven. Details of the starting area will be broadcast on VHF
channel M (37) between 08.30 and 09.00.
COURSE
The course will be a 'Windward / Leeward' type course. A racing
mark, Mark 1, will be laid approximately to windward of the Starting Line at a
distance of approximately 1.5 2 miles. Marks shall be rounded in order: Start
1 2 1 2 1 Finish. All marks shall be left to Port (but see
Finishing Line below).
FINISHING LINE
The Finishing Line will be same as the same as the Starting
Line, i.e. a line between the mainmast of the Committee Vessel and Mark 2.
Yachts shall finish from the direction of Mark 1, i.e. Mark 2 shall be left on
the opposite hand to that on which it was left at the start.
SECOND RACE
A second race will normally be run as soon as possible after
the finish of the first race. If the second race is not to be run, the
Committee Vessel at the finish of the first race will display Flag E.
PART 2 ALTERNATIVE COURSES
The alternative courses will apply if the Committee Vessel at
the start displays Flag A. Only one race will be sailed.
STARTING LINE
A line between the mainmast of the Committee Vessel moored north
of the entrance to Largs Yacht Haven and a racing mark offshore (Mark X). The
hand on which Mark X is to be passed is given under COURSE.
COURSE
A code flag displayed by the Committee Vessel at the start will
indicate the course.
