Proposed Cruising Events & Musters for 2011

Opening Muster 30th April – 1st May

The Opening Muster for the 2011 season will again be at Rhu Marina, after the race from Kip Marina, with the social gathering on Saturday 30th April being held in the Royal Northern CYC.  As in previous years, a buffet will be served in the clubhouse and it is hoped that even if you didn’t participate in the race itself, that you will still be able to attend the dinner, where all will be welcome.  Contact the CCC office for further details.
This will be followed the next morning in the RNLI boathouse at the Marina by the not to be missed Commodore’s Bacon Butty Breakfast accompanied by Buck’s Fizz.  This is a popular event and everyone is welcome.

May Cruise – Friday 6th May – Sunday 15th May

6th  May - Muster at Rothesay Harbour, where we shall finalise plans for the following week. It is proposed depending on weather, to visit the marina at Islay where there is good berthing on the pontoons, and perhaps a few Distillery`s!  This will be a leisurely cruise for new and seasoned members, fostering the traditions of the Clyde Cruising Company and it is hoped there will be a good number of boats in attendance.
Contact Clive Reeves or CCC office for further information.
NB If some members do not wish to commit to the whole week they would be very welcome to join for the weekend—all idea`s welcome!!

Ladies/Juniors – June 18 - 19th

There will be an informal Muster in Rothesay Harbour on the Friday evening, prior to the race from Port Bannatyne to Colintraive, allowing us to enjoy the facilities of Rothesay, ready for the race on Saturday.
As last year we will muster at Wreck Bay at the head of the Kyles where we will be more assured of shelter should the weather turn inclement.  A BBQ will be held on the shore accompanied by wines, beers and hopefully not the midges!
On the Sunday, a sherry party will be held, with some games and rowing races on the beach for the not so adult!
N.B. will bring more sherry and wine, as we ran out last year!

Summer BBQ 19th July

It is proposed to have a BBQ at Loch Drumbuie on the Tuesday following the Tobermory Race all welcome, racers and cruisers alike. Bring your own Food and I will supply the BBQ`s and there might be some Centenary wine left over!

Loch Spelve Mussel Party
Saturday 6th August 2011

Once again, the very popular muster at Loch Spelve on the east coast of Mull combines stunning scenery with a very special BBQ.
The cruising committee will ensure that the catering and refreshments are of the usual high standards.  In previous years, Douglas Wilson of Inverlussa shellfish has kindly provided fresh mussels which will accompany the usual BBQ fare.  Last year we enjoyed facilities of his yard, which made landing from dinghies easier and gave better conditions underfoot.

Closing Muster
Tarbert, Saturday 24th September 2011

This is undoubtedly the most popular Race/Cruise to the sheltered harbour of Tarbert on Loch Fyne – the final bash before battening down the hatches for the winter ahead!
There is now ample berthing at the new pontoons.
At 17.00hrs there will be the usual pontoon party.  (The noise of revelry will draw you there!)
Afterwards, there will be a dinner in the Tarbert Hotel.  Please book places for dinner through the Tarbert Hotel (01880 820264).
