Sailing Programme 2010
19th June: Ladies' & juniors'
The muster is returning to Wreck Bay this year after a few years in Millport. The race is likely to be very competitive as always. The event is being sponsored by Euroyachts this year.
25th-27th June: The Carmen II Ailsa Craig Race & Arran Trophy
This weekend sees something for everyone - whether you fancy an overnight trip round Ailsa Craig or a gentle meander around the Firth, this event is for you. You can even do both.

We now have a sponsor for this weekend - the crew of Carmen II have stepped forward in what is possibly unique to the Club where a boat is the race sponsor. The social has now moved and will be held in the newly refurbished Victoria Hotel. Complimentary drinks and nibbles will be available at the Victoria in the Balmoral suite from 18:00 till 19:30

1st-4th July: North Channel & Zigeuner Trophy
An old favourite this one- but moving to July for the first time. It is a double header taking us straight to Bangor on the Thursday night and back on the Saturday. We can be sure of a warm welcome from the Royal Ulster Yacht Club - that in itself is worth the trip.
16th - 19th July: Round the Mull & Tobermory Race
The traditional Glasgow Fair weekend outing to Tobermory and the start of the Club's Centenary Cruise. The start of the 2nd leg will be at 7am this year and I hope that the passage to Tobermory will be brisk again and that the first racer arrives after the race officer - the gap was only 20 minutes last year!
As ever we have negotiated a discount for Club members participating in the Race and full details on the options available from British Waterways can be found below. A licence application can also be downloaded.

Please check the Centenary pages for an update on those participating in the Round the Mull and Tobermory races. Details will shortly be available of what's happening when you get to Ardfern.
14th - 15th August: Troon Weekend
We return to Troon for an event sponsored by Yacht Havens, Scott's Bar and West Coast Marine. This always seems to have interesting weather conditions - few of the crew on Significant will forget the wind & swell on the return leg last year! Due to the difficulty of finding DZ or laying a racing mark in uncertain conditions, the race will go straight to Troon this year and the start will be an hour later.
18th -19th September: GSS North Clyde Regatta
The Club is, once again, running is popular event in conjunction with Garelochead Support Services (GSS). The conditions on the Saturday last year were near perfect, but sadly all racing was abandoned on the Sunday due to there being no wind at all. In spite of this, everyone had a good time and the comment "If Carlsberg ran regattas......" was seen on a well known Clyde website. The plan is for 3 races a day on the Saturday & Sunday & one race per day for the restricted sail boats with a social at Rhu Marina on the Saturday night.
25th September: Rothesay-Tarbert Race and Closing Muster
It was great to see such a big turnout again at this end of season event last year and I hope that is repeated in 2010. There will be the traditional ‘convenience' party and dinner ashore, this year, at the Tarbert Hotel.
