23rd -24th April: Bute Race Weekend
From Inverkip, round Bute to Largs on Saturday and 2 windward/leeward races at Largs on Sunday.
30th April: Opening Muster
The race is from Inverkip to Rhu with a Muster in the RNCYC on Saturday night. Tickets are now available from the Club Office, priced at £16 per person. As in previous years, this is on a first come first served basis due to the demand. Bacon rolls & bucks fizz at the RNLI station on Sunday morning.
27 - 30 May: Brewin Dolphin Scottish Series
It's back to Tarbert for the new look series.
18th June: Ladies' & juniors'
The muster is back at Wreck Bay this year. The race is likely to be very competitive as always. The event is being sponsored by Euroyachts this year.
24th-26th June: Ailsa Craig Race & Arran Trophy Weekend
This weekend sees something for everyone - whether you fancy an overnight trip round Ailsa Craig or a gentle meander around the Firth, this event is for you. You can even do both.
30th June to 3rd July: North Channel & Zigeuner Trophy
An old favourite this one! It is a double header taking us straight to Bangor on the Thursday night and back on the Saturday. We can be sure of a warm welcome from the Royal Ulster Yacht Club - that in itself is worth the trip.
15th - 18th July: Round the Mull & Tobermory Race
The traditional Glasgow Fair weekend outing to Tobermory. The start of the 2nd leg will be at a much more respectable time this year! Once again, British Waterways are offering discounts to Club boats taking part in the Tobermory Race. Please download and complete the
Tobermory-Licence-Application-2011 Form. For more information on the BW discount please refer to our Information drop-down.
20th-21st August: Troon Weekend (Please note change of date from the yellow card)
We return to Troon for an event sponsored by Yacht Havens, Scott's Bar and West Coast Marine. I hope that we have a bit more wind this year and that we manage to race for more than 2 miles!
17th -18th September: GSS North Clyde Regatta
The Club is, once again, running is popular event in conjunction with Garelochead Support Services (GSS). Once again, the conditions on the Saturday last year were near perfect, but sadly all racing was abandoned on the Sunday due to there being no wind at all. The plan is for 3 races a day on the Saturday & Sunday & one race per day for the restricted sail boats with a social at Rhu Marina on the Saturday night.
24th September: Rothesay-Tarbert Race and Closing Muster
It was great to see such a big turnout again at this end of season event last year and I hope that is repeated in 2011. There will be the traditional ‘convenience' party and dinner ashore at the Tarbert Hotel.
