Welcome to the Clyde Cruising Club Dinghy Section
The CCC Dinghy Section has been based at Bardowie loch near Milngavie for 76 years. The site and the club have changed a great deal since then but the aims of the club are still the same; to provide members with the opportunity to dinghy sail, to learn to sail and to race. The club has a fleet of dinghies for use by members and a new club house opened in 2006 that provides a warm and comfortable shore base.
Bardowie has a well deserved reputation as a family friendly club: RYA evening classes are available to children and adults covering beginners through to budding racers during the weekday evenings. In the summer holidays the club runs a very successful summer school. There are also regular Funday Sundays throughout the summer when the children enjoy a variety of water based activities with fun races and plenty of getting wet.
The Thursday evening points series is the backbone of the club's racing calendar. A wide variety of boats are raced including the club laser 2000s and lasers, as well as privately owned boats such as solos, national 12s, and albacores.
A fleet of challenger trimarans is available for sailors who have difficulties sailing independently. Bardowie hosts the annual Duncan’s Regatta in which sailors from across Scotland compete in a one class event.
The CCC Dinghy Section also offers its facilities and expertise to a diverse range of organisations to give adults and children a sailing experience. If you want to find out more about how your organisation can benefit from a sailing experience at Bardowie please contact us.
I do hope you can browse the rest of the website to find out more about Bardowie and if you have any questions contact our administrator on 01360 622 345 or 07754919240, or email dinghy.admin@clyde.org or come down the loch and see what is happening for yourself.
