Commodore's Welcome
It gives me pleasure to welcome members and guests to this website where you will find information on the wide and varied activities of the Club – I hope you enjoy reading it.
The Club’s schedule of events for 2013 is as busy as ever with many successful events being repeated. The Scottish Series Notice of Race and Entry form are on the website – please do come and join in for what promises to be another great Series to be held again in the beautiful waters of Loch Fyne and based at Tarbert.
The Blue Water Race and Cruise in company are scheduled to leave Troon on Friday 5th July for the first leg to Dublin then on to the final destination of Benodet in Brittany. There will be Musters at both venues with the Royal St George Yacht Club hosting supper on Sunday 7th July at Dun Loaghaire and the Club D’Odet welcoming us with a reception and prizegiving at Benodet on Saturday 13th July – Bastille Day is on Sunday 14th.
The Dinghy Section, which is celebrating its 80th anniversary this year, has another busy year ahead with a full programme of events at Bardowie and beyond. The summer school is fully subscribed as usual, meanwhile, the club has two new Access Dinghies, boosting its capacity to cater for disabled sailors.
At the AGM in November those present unanimously agreed that the Club should convert into an Incorporation limited by members’ guarantee (of £1 each) – the transition has been taking place during 2013 and much work has been and will continue to be done to make this happen as smoothly as possible. At the end of the day however the club will continue as always to be referred to as ‘The Clyde Cruising Club’.
There is much more information on this website so please do check it out and I sincerely hope you will find some activities which you would like to take part in – if not then let members of the Committee know!
